adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Miami has found a home! His story: So golden as a piece of amber, Miami, affectionately named "Max" in his foster home, stands out with his golden, short fur, a dark dog nose, and charming dark round eyes. He is truly a real looker! At the moment, the little Miami is a cuddly and sweet puppy that wants to be loved and protected. Just arrived in his foster family, he is very trusting and cuddly from the start, loves all people and dogs. He already gets along well with the three existing first dogs. At around 4.5 months old, he is playful like a puppy and an incredibly sweet and eager learner, very smart and adaptable, showing quick learning abilities. He is very curious but initially reserved, observing his surroundings before becoming active. He orientates himself to the three pack dogs, then imitates them – in his typical puppy clumsiness. Regarding "no," where he, for example, is not allowed on the couch, he is still resistant to persuasion. He also feels comfortable in the garden, rolling around on the grass. Through his curious and open nature, he can be taught a lot playfully. We assume that when fully grown, he will likely reach a medium to large size. Leash walking is no problem for him, and he now enjoys walking. Surprisingly, he is already almost house-trained and shows signs when he needs to go out, even though he has only been in his foster family for less than a week. Miami's puberty won't be far off, and this is also a time when the foundations for the rest of his life are set for dogs. Therefore, we recommend his new family to work with a positively trained dog training class. Patient and loving training will strengthen his self-confidence, deepen the bond with his trusted people, and keep him physically and mentally stimulated. Originally, Miami came from Romania, Baia Mare. He was brought together with his nine (!)

About Miami

What life with Miami looks like

Miami is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miami, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miami?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miami on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miami if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miami already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miami isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miami and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
