Michael

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

The director of the Kutyakuckó Foundation needed extra urgent help to place the dogs in their care due to a serious accident. Two neutered, very kind male dogs arrived at our shelter. Michael is a small black and white "socks" gentleman born in December 2022. At first, he's shy and doesn't immediately show his friendship. But whoever takes the time to give him some attention will receive a wonderful companion in return. Like many males, his way to his heart goes through his stomach; with a little treat, we can quickly become his favorite. When he gets into the rhythm during walks, he bravely starts exploring the world. Every day he learns, opens up, and it's clear how much he wants to succeed. He likes dog companionship, so we can confidently recommend him as a companion for another favorite. We would very much like this beautiful little boy to finally find the family where he can open up, be himself, and experience what it's like to truly belong to someone.

About Michael

What life with Michael looks like

Michael is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Michael, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Michael?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Michael on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Michael if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Michael already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Michael isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Michael and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
