No one suspected anything at first; he was placed safely in a shelter house, and food was brought out to him. But upon closer inspection, it turned out he wasn’t just another abandoned kitten. The situation was much more heartbreaking: his little spine is curved, his back legs sway when he walks, and his tail hangs lifelessly. Following an examination and a thorough check with X-rays and an ultrasound, the harsh truth became clear: the kitten had been kicked. Kicked! Someone deliberately inflicted these unimaginable sufferings on a helpless baby. He had bruising in his abdomen and a neurological deficit in his left hind leg, and he lacked full control over his bathroom habits. Fortunately, there was no dislocation of his vertebrae, leaving an optimistic prognosis that he has a real chance to recover. Despite everything, Michael is doing well today. The curve in his spine is already less noticeable, and his indomitable spirit shines through. He is still waiting for his upcoming tests and parasite treatments, and every day brings us hope for even greater and more significant improvements. It is horrifying that such a defenseless little creature could suffer such cruelty, but Michael’s story is one of survival, healing, and profound trust in people.
