Michi

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Michi can travel directly to his final home! His story: Bistrita, Romania. The little Michi will undoubtedly grow into a big one! And in many ways. Already now, his wonderful attributes show that he will grow into a great companion. With his impressive size, he will surely draw admiring glances later on, and he will certainly try his best to be the great love of his people. Michi, about 5-6 months old, unfortunately had a difficult start in life. He shared a rough life with his mother and seven siblings on the harsh streets of Romanian towns. That's why we hope that our shelter is only a short stop for this adorable heartflatter, because every day behind bars means missing out on the wonderful world outside. Michi is still a bit cautious with his caregivers, but he is generally loving and friendly. He enjoys treats and cuddles and clearly shows that he would love to have more of both. Please look into your heart to see if there is still a spot for our beautiful little furball with the white snout. However, it should be a spacious place, as we assume that Michi will grow rather large. His mother is a German Shepherd mix, his father is unknown. Guard or herding dog genes are not ruled out. It is understandable that this young man is not suitable for a city home and feels much more comfortable in a rural home with a garden. To do justice to Michi in every way, we are looking for adoptive parents with experience in the husbandry of these special dog breeds, which are distinguished by their loyalty, intelligence, and devotion. They form strong bonds with their people and require ample physical and mental activity. A loving and sovereign companionship is the key to successfully addressing any instincts and guiding Michi. Time, understanding, and above all joy should be present to teach the alert young pup the still unknown ABCs of being a house dog. A visit to a positively oriented dog training class could be helpful and provide additional, fun stimulation. In a few months, Michi's puberty will also be approaching. Hormonally induced memory lapses regarding already learned things and slightly rebellious behavior will be completely normal. With clear communication and a portion of calmness, this phase will also pass. The affable Michi gets along problem-free with other furballs, but he especially likes to play with his siblings. The little rascals are playfully, excited, and simply the most heart-adorable under each other. Whether he also likes cats, we unfortunately cannot say. Michi would be ready to travel after a successful adoption. He would then already be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and in possession of an EU pet passport. Castration is age-dependent and not yet possible. Whose family will make the wonderful Michi complete? A foster home would also be a huge opportunity for him. Many loving thanks, Silke P., for taking over his nametag sponsorship. Some symptoms here are age-related.

About Michi

What life with Michi looks like

Michi is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Michi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Michi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Michi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Michi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Michi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Michi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Michi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
