Adopt MICKY

Mixed Breed · Male

Micky is now in private kennels funded by one of our amazing supporters. Micky has Leishmania which is treated by an inexpensive daily tablet. He is taking Alpurinol twice a day and his Leish levels will be checked again very soon and he is now on a food that will help his kidneys. He still needs his forever home. Micky is a very loving lad Micky enjoys having his belly scratched and is gentle when children pet him. Micky is strong on the lead but we are confident that with one to one training he would easily learn not to pull. Here is what volunteer Roland said about Micky when he met him at the Protectora.. "Micky is an incredibly sweet dog, wonderfully young and playful and full of energy. He is developing well and I see a lot of progress in him" Micky would be best at this stage with a home with no cats. Approx weight as of 30/12/24: 22KG Approx measurements for Micky 27/01/25: Neck 41cm Height 48cm Length 53cm Chest 69cm

About MICKY

What life with MICKY looks like

MICKY is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Murcia) in Lips Rescue.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting MICKY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MICKY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Murcia) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MICKY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MICKY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Murcia) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MICKY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MICKY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Murcia) early rather than rehoming privately; they know MICKY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
