adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Midas has found a home! His story: Cluj, Romania. Daria, Midas, and Trish – three wonderful siblings look hopefully to the future! They were given to us by Bologa after a spay/neuter campaign. The mother was neutered and returned to the care of the owners. Now they have the chance for a happy dog life! Midas – the chicken in the basket! Just five months old and already an absolute beauty. He is expected to grow to a medium size and shows himself as a friendly and more people-oriented male dog. Midas gets along well with other dogs. Midas is looking for people who don’t expect much from him at first and show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Occasional mishaps shouldn’t be held against him and Midas should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. He is looking forward to his new life with beautiful nature walks, lots of snuggling hours, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They “forget” a lot of what they have learned and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Midas is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings his EU Companion Animal Passport and can be fostered. Midas would also be very happy to have a foster home. Will you extend your hand to Midas and give him a new life? Many thanks Anja S.! You have given Midas his name!

Vielen Dank Anja S.! Du hast Midas seinen Namen geschenkt!

About Midas

What life with Midas looks like

Midas is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Midas, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Midas?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Midas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Midas if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Midas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Midas isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Midas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
