Midnight & Comet

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

Meet Midnight and Comet – a very special bonded pair of black cats searching for a calm, understanding home where they can truly feel safe. Comet (2 years old) and her son Midnight (1 year old) were found straying together and have been through a lot in their short lives. Because of this, they are quite nervous and will need a patient adopter willing to give them the time and space they need to settle. These two are inseparable and take comfort in each other, so they must be rehomed together. They are naturally very quiet, gentle cats who prefer a peaceful environment. A home with no other pets and no children is essential, as too much noise or activity can overwhelm them. What they really need is someone kind and patient who understands that trust takes time. The beautiful thing about Midnight and Comet is that once they begin to feel safe and build a bond, their sweeter sides start to shine through. With time, they will show their affection in their own gentle ways, forming a very special connection with their person. Their ideal home would be: -Someone patient and understanding of nervous cats -With safe outdoor access in the future, once they are fully settled Midnight and Comet may not be the type of cats who rush up for attention straight away, but for the right person, earning their trust will be incredibly rewarding. Watching them grow in confidence and show their love is something truly special. If you can offer this lovely mum and son the safe, peaceful home they deserve, they will be forever grateful.

About Midnight & Comet

What life with Midnight & Comet looks like

Midnight & Comet is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Assisi Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Midnight & Comet, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Midnight & Comet?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Assisi Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Midnight & Comet on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Midnight & Comet if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Assisi Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Midnight & Comet already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Midnight & Comet isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Assisi Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Midnight & Comet and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
