Adopt Mika

Female · Adult · 4 years

Hello, my name is Mika, a 4-year-old griffon puppy, and I am looking for a forever family to love. Our breed has a very special personality: we are affectionate, loyal, and very attached to the people we love. We love feeling like part of the family, following you around the house, accompanying you on your walks, and being close to receive cuddles. They say that griffons have very expressive eyes, and it's true... with just a glance, we try to tell you everything we feel. We are also very intelligent, curious, and happy dogs. We are always attentive to what is happening around us and we enjoy sharing time with our human companions. Although we are small, we have a big heart and a lot of love to give. I am a good and sweet puppy, one that just wants peace, affection, and to feel safe. I dream of finding a home where they will speak to me with love, where I can sleep peacefully, walk happily, and fill every corner with companionship and tenderness. If you decide to give me a chance, I promise to give you my loyalty, my company, and all the love that I carry within me. Because sometimes, a home doesn't just save a puppy... it also fills the life of the one who opens it with love. For more information about adoptions: our area

About Mika

What life with Mika looks like

Mika is a adult dog waiting at Animales Rioja in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mika, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mika?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animales Rioja handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mika on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mika if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animales Rioja will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mika already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mika isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animales Rioja early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mika and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
