Miko

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Hi, my name is Miko! I'm a so-called "semittam" boy who's still trying to figure this whole human thing out. I think cats can actually be pretty good, but I'm not quite ready to admit it yet 😸 Sometimes I let them pet me, and then I really enjoy it, even though I can still be a bit unsure. I love both playing and relaxation, and I adore being around other cats. That's why I really want a home with a kind cat friend who can help me feel safe. When I'm not playing, I like to relax and just take life easy. Sudden movements and strangers can still be a bit daunting for me, so I need a home with patient people who will give me time to bloom in my own pace. I'm getting more and more comfortable all the time, and with understanding and love, I believe I will continue to develop a lot. I might fit best with someone who values the small progressions. Someone who gets happy when I finally come a little closer or when I suddenly decide that maybe a bit of petting isn't so bad after all. Maybe I'll get to be a part of your family?

About Miko

What life with Miko looks like

Miko is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter in Trollåsen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NB). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
