MIkuś

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Mikuś is a small, approximately two-year-old male mixed breed dog who arrived at our shelter from Gmina Ostrów Mazowiecka. He was found in a drainage ditch near the S8 highway. He was brought to us wearing a red collar. The dog is extremely emaciated, but we have already taken care of him and hope to help him recover. Mikuś is very friendly towards his new environment, loves being held in his arms. He snuggles up to his caregiver, seeking support and security. He does not stray from his caregiver while on a walk, he needs to have a person close to him. He is ready to give love to every new person he meets, he is a lovely, loving little dog who, despite the hardships he has faced, wants to give a person another chance. He wants to have a loving and stable home among people who will not hurt him this time. DON'T BUY - ADOPT! A DOG WHO ENTERS OUR SHELTER IS COVERED BY A 14-DAY QUARANTINE. If he is not picked up by the owner during this time, the dog will be vaccinated, chipped, neutered, and we will look for a new caregiver for him. The condition for adoption is to fill out a questionnaire available on our website, agree to a pre- and post-adoption visit, and sign an adoption contract. About MIkuś

What life with MIkuś looks like

MIkuś is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adopters usually cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting MIkuś, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MIkuś?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MIkuś on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MIkuś if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is MIkuś already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MIkuś isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know MIkuś and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
