Mila

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Mila has found its own home quickly. The little Mila was lucky – she was found in time and brought to safety. Unfortunately, we don't know much about her past, but what we do know: Mila is ready to find her own happy ending. Currently, Mila lives in the our shelter. For such a delicate, small female dog, this is not a place where she can find peace. The hustle and bustle, the noise, and the many impressions take their toll on her. That's why we wish for Mila a loving home very soon. Mila is about 1.5 years old, measures only 23 cm, and weighs a light 6 kg. She is a small, dainty Dachshund lady with an incredibly affectionate nature. She shows friendliness and openness to people – a female dog who simply wants to be liked and seeks closeness. She gets along well with other dogs. Whether she likes cats has not yet been tested. We cannot say what her previous life was like, so it is good that Mila will have to get to know life in a household. House training, leash manners, and all the little things of daily life – she will be allowed to learn these step by step. Her new family should give her patience, understanding, and loving consequences. And also be able to smile when everything isn't perfect right away. Mila has already packed her suitcase and is eagerly waiting for her ticket to happiness. She travels to positive Mila – small, enchanting, and full of love. Would you like to give this wonderful female dog a home and show her how a dog life can be? Thank you, dear Carina, for your namesake sponsorship. Thanks to you, Mila can hope for her own family. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

About Mila

What life with Mila looks like

Mila is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
