Milka

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Milka owes her name to the fur pattern resembling a cow. She is thus our little "cow-fur". In her young life, she has already experienced disappointment. Most likely, she was abandoned. Alone and hungry, she crouched in a doorway, right next to the street. A guardian angel led us to her, we rescued her from her sad situation, and brought her to an experienced foster home. Since then, Milka has lived there peacefully with other cats. She is playful and cuddly and has a particularly close relationship with one of her cat friends (see video). Towards people, she is initially a bit shy; but once she has gained their trust, she also enjoys their closeness and cuddles. Milka is very friendly and likes treats. She wishes for a caring home where she receives more attention. Milka wants to experience and discover so much more. Who falls in love with the loving cow-fur and gives her her own kingdom of cats, where she can continue to develop positively? Milka has already packed a lot of love into her little bag. The animal here comes from a shelter/foster home that houses many animals. For these animals, we are searching for a loving and safe home. The descriptions are brief because there simply isn't time to provide detailed descriptions of all the animals during our daily work. If you are interested, a more detailed description can be requested, please send your questions directly via email to the provided address. We will try to answer these as soon as possible. A loving home is sought for Milka. Our cats are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and come with an EU passport, if their age and health status allow it. They are also tested for FELV/FIV. We look forward to your contact.

About Milka

What life with Milka looks like

Milka is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
