adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Milkshake has found a home! His story: Milkshake not only has this name, he is it: a little puppy to melt your heart. Instead of berries or vanilla, he brings curiosity, gentleness, and a good portion of puppy magic. Born in Romania alongside his eight siblings—Elsa, Kirby, Mina, Malia, Bubble, Summer, Potato, and Alfie—Milkshake was discovered when their mother, Nova, was originally caught for spaying. Nova stands at about 55 cm in shoulder height, so we assume that Milkshake will also grow to be medium-sized. Currently, he is about 38 cm tall. Milkshake has recently traveled to Germany to stay in a foster home and is now gathering his first family life experiences. At first, he was very shy and barely ventured out of his safe retreat. But now, he is slowly warming up. Step by step, he is exploring his new environment, now even venturing into the garden and beginning to curiously discover the world. Milkshake lives on a large property together with two older mixed-breed dogs, a female dog, and a male dog. He gets along well with them and often looks to them for guidance. He also gets along with the three foster home cats and the chickens. Typical for a puppy, Milkshake is now starting to play more and shows how much joy he has inside. At the same time, it is clear that he is eager to learn and motivated to try new things. He is also becoming more trusting of people and is slowly seeking proximity. Of course, Milkshake is still at the very beginning of his journey. Many things like house training, leash walking, or being left alone must still be learned. Puberty also lies ahead— a phase where young dogs often test their limits and sometimes forget what they have learned. With patience, loving consistency, and a good dose of humor, Milkshake will surely develop into a wonderful companion. A visit to a positively working dog training class can be a valuable support and simultaneously strengthen the bond between human and dog. Milkshake will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport and rehomed. Many thanks to the community! You have given Milkshake his name! Date: 14.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Community! Ihr habt Milkshake seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 14.03.2026

About Milkshake

What life with Milkshake looks like

Milkshake is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milkshake, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milkshake?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milkshake on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milkshake if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milkshake already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milkshake isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milkshake and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
