Milli

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 6 years

I am Milli! I came to the shelter as part of a government takeover and am now looking for a quiet home where I can arrive at my own pace. Basically, I am a friendly female cat, but in the shelter I am currently very timid. Strangers scare me and I currently withdraw a lot. With people I already know, I let myself be gently touched and stroked, which shows that I am willing to build trust. However, I need time, patience and people who do not force anything from me. I generally get along with other cats, but I have not yet formed a closer friendship with anyone here.My health is currently unremarkable. For my new home, I wish for a quiet household with loving people who give me the time I need to feel safe and slowly come out of my shell. I can be rehomed as a single cat or with a suitable existing cat. Children should already be somewhat older and understand that I initially need distance and rest.If you are willing to show me with a lot of patience and understanding that I can trust you, then please contact the shelter. Maybe I can slowly discover with you how nice a home can be.Your Milli

Deine Milli

About Milli

What life with Milli looks like

Milli is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein St. Pölten in St. Pölten.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein St. Pölten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein St. Pölten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Milli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein St. Pölten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
