Millie

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Millie had great luck and found a wonderful home in Romania. Sunshiny Millie seeks family connection. The small, approximately 3-month-old puppy Millie currently lives in a private shelter in Romania and dreams of a life as a beloved family dog. Millie is a playful, female puppy who greets everyone very friendly and open. She is looking forward to every affection and petting, and also gets along very well with other dogs. Millie has a magical beautiful fur pattern. With the freckles on her nose, the fluffy ears, and the dark round eyes, she can charm anyone very quickly. Still, Millie is a small puppy, but she is expected to grow into a beautiful, medium-sized dog. Of course, in her young age, Millie has not yet had any experiences with life as a house dog, and she has not heard of house training or leash walking. But Millie is a very smart puppy who wants to please people. With lots of love, understanding, and positive reinforcement, she will surely learn the entire Welpen-1×1 course quickly. In a few months, Millie will then enter puberty, which will often put everything she has learned so far into question and test the boundaries. But with a loving and consistent upbringing style, the smart girl will emerge from this phase well-raised and self-assured, and her family will be faithfully and reliably accompanied in all activities. We wish for adopters who will lovingly and patiently take her in, provide her with a family connection, a warm dog bed, beautiful walks, and enough contact with fellow animals. After the adjustment period, we would recommend a visit to a positively working dog training class, where Millie can train together with her new family and gain positive experiences. We would also be very happy about a suitable foster home. Many thanks to Maria P., who gave Millie the pretty name and thus an identity for her new life. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

About Millie

What life with Millie looks like

Millie is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Millie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Millie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Millie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Millie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Millie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Millie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Millie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
