adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Milly has found a home! Her story: Wuschelhund Milly is looking for a "lifetime dog groomer" and people who can give her what a dog needs to be happy. Milly was brought to the animal shelter by the dog catchers. We can't tell you much about Milly's past, but she seems to have not made too many bad experiences with people, as she is very attached to them. From the condition of her fur, it can be assumed that she must have lived on the streets for a while. Milly gets along well with other dogs. She couldn't be tested with cats. At 47-50 cm, she has a nice medium size. From her appearance, she could be a Bearded Collie mix. However, based on her current fur condition, we can only speculate about that. Very cheerful, friendly, and exceptionally cute, she doesn't need a brush 😉. Milly is looking for people who don't have high expectations of her and can give her some time to settle in. The long journey and new environment must be processed first. Since we don't know if she already knows house life, some minor mishaps should be forgiven at the beginning. Milly is looking forward to long nature walks and many cuddle hours. She would also be very happy about a visit to a dog training class, as she might still have some catching up to do in the dog-ABC. Milly is ideal for people who no longer have the energy for the demanding time with a puppy and a pubescent dog. At 4 years old, Milly still has her whole life ahead. Ideal conditions to start anew. So, Wuschelhund lovers, here you come. Milly is looking forward to your request. Milly travels microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and flea-treated, with her EU pet passport in her luggage. She can start her big journey at any time. She would also be very happy about a foster home. Thank you, Annika! You gave Milly her name and thus her identity. As of: 05.08.

Also, Wuschelhundliebhaber:innen vor. Stand: 05.08.2024

About Milly

What life with Milly looks like

Milly is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
