Adopt Milo

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Milo – a timid kitten with the potential to become a loving companion. Milo is a black and white small cat who is still learning to trust people. He is a bit scared and withdrawn, but in the company of other cats he thrives - other cats give him courage and a sense of security. He is what is called a "wild one", but he has a heart that is waiting for someone patient and gentle. Milo uses the litter box and does very well in home conditions - he just needs time and peace to feel safe. In a new, quiet home, with a good caregiver, he has a chance to take a big step towards trust. When he falls in love - it will be an extraordinary love.

To tzw. "dzikusek", ale z sercem, które czeka na kogoś cierpliwego i czułego. Milo korzysta z kuwety i świetnie odnajduje się w domowych warunkach – potrzebuje tylko czasu i spokoju, by poczuć się bezpiecznie. W nowym, spokojnym domu, przy dobrym opiekunie, ma szansę zrobić wielki krok ku zaufaniu. Kiedy już pokocha – będzie to miłość wyjątkowa.

About Milo

What life with Milo looks like

Milo is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed cat waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
