adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Milou can stay forever! Your story: The little Milou is part of the so-called "Eleven Gang" – a happy rattle band of siblings who were rescued together with their mom. Their story began sadly: The dog family lived on the streets, constantly in danger. When our animal welfare workers were already securing four other puppies from a crisis situation, they discovered Willa's mother in the middle of the street with her babies – one of the little ones had just been hit by a car and didn't make it. Although the shelter in Fantanele is already bursting at the seams, the family couldn't be left defenseless. Milou is a typical puppy: happy, playful, curious, and full of life. Together with his siblings, he creates plenty of action in the shelter. The little ones are active, funny, and show typical, age-appropriate behavior. Their mom takes loving care of the rattle band. Visually, the little Milou is a beautiful light sandy-colored puppy who enchants everyone with his crooked ears. At 4 months old and about 31 cm tall, he is expected to be medium-sized. We wish Milou a loving family that is aware of the responsibility of raising a puppy. He needs patience, time, consistent but sensitive upbringing, and lots of affection. A visit to a positively working dog training class would certainly help – especially during the phase of puberty, when young dogs like to test boundaries. He travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Due to his young age, he is not neutered yet. For his travel arrangements, he of course brings his EU pet passport. A foster home would also be a valuable first step in a new life for him. Can the sweet brat already grow up at your place soon? Many thanks to Janett H.! You gave Milou his name and thus the chance to grow up protected. Status: 05.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Janett H.! Stand: 05.03.2026

About Milou

What life with Milou looks like

Milou is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milou, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milou?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milou on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milou if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milou already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milou isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milou and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
