Adopt Mimi

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 15 years

Mimi arrived at the foundation from Górki Narodowe, having been found on a busy street, curled up in a ball. After her first visits to the vet, it was discovered that she was suffering from feline asthma and skin inflammation. She received antibiotics and under the foundation's care, she continued a rather long treatment. Currently, she resides in a temporary home and is ready for adoption. Mimi is a full of life, curious kitten. She loves being pet, chasing strings and balls. She currently lives with two kittens and a dog. After a few transitions with feline company, there is peace and she gets along wonderfully. However, it is quite clear that she would like to be the sole queen in the home, or have one companion. Her relationship with the dog (15 years old) is neutral; she does not bother him, and she is not aggressive. She probably wouldn't have a problem with a younger one either. She also lives with a 7-year-old girl. She enjoys the company of a child, is delicate, and after working through a few issues, she is not conflictive. She uses the litter box nicely, and there are no accidents. This little, black-and-white ball of joy, purring, warmth, and love is definitely going to be a great companion in any home. She is waiting for her human. Our photographer added after her visit: Little Mimi is adorable after a meal, in the temporary home, she greeted me with a pup at the door. Her tail like an antenna, she can be hugged, and at the end of the session, she fell asleep in my hands. Wonderful. We are looking for a non-escorting, loving, safe home for Mimi, with a secured balcony (if there is one) and/or windows, that will surround her with the best care. NOTICE!

Obecnie mieszka z dwoma kotkami i psem. To mała, czarno-biała kulka radości, mruczenia, ciepła i miłości. UWAGA! About Mimi

What life with Mimi looks like

Mimi is a small senior mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy in Poland.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mimi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mimi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mimi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mimi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mimi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mimi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mimi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
