Adopt MINCO

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 7 months

Breed: HSH-mixed breed Project: Greece/Larissa Gender: male Age: born 09/2025 Size: growing Weight: approx. 8 kg (as of 01.11.2025) Other: a very friendly puppy, not at all fearful, calm, to be placed in experienced hands only Current location: Animal shelter in Greece/Larissa MINCO's Story One morning, a cardboard box was found in front of the town hall in Tyrnavos – inside were four tiny, only about five days old puppies: MINCO, CHARLY, AMIDALA, and HERMAN. The mayor immediately informed our animal welfare colleagues and asked for quick assistance. A volunteer did not hesitate for long and took the little ones in – thus began their fight for life. For almost four weeks, the puppies had to be fed with a bottle every three hours. Thanks to this loving and tireless care, they all made it: they are healthy, lively, and full of joy. Now they are in the quarantine area of our animal shelter. MINCO is one of three male dogs and the only puppy that looks a bit different from the others – he appears slightly larger. He is a beautiful mixed breed and a very calm, almost laid-back puppy, friendly and cuddly. Our vet assumes that he will weigh around 30–35 kg when fully grown. How MINCO will develop further, especially after moving into a new home, cannot be predicted with certainty. Animals – just like people – are shaped by the experiences they make. With loving, consistent, and clear guidance, however, MINCO brings ideal prerequisites to become a balanced and faithful companion. MINCO is already microchipped, age-appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for both endo- and ectoparasites. The breeds that make him up cannot be precisely determined. Given his origin, it is very likely that a Greek German Shepherd (herdsman dog) is involved. As these dogs often develop independent and robust personalities, we wish for MINCO a home with HSH-experienced people in a house and garden, in a more rural area, where he can grow up in peace and develop safely.

Rasse: HSH-Mischling Projekt: Griechenland/Larissa Geschlecht: männlich Alter: geb.

About MINCO

What life with MINCO looks like

MINCO is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. in Bamberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting MINCO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MINCO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MINCO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MINCO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MINCO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MINCO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know MINCO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
