Minia

Mixed Breed · Female

Minia along with her siblings came to the foundation from a town near Krakow, currently lives with her brother Pompon in a foster home, where both are waiting for adoption. Minia is a sociable and gentle kitten. Her hobbies include hunting soft toys, watching chickadees through the window, and of course eating treats. She also likes to "cookie" with loud purring in exchange for scratching behind the neck. Her brother Pompon is a dignified small cat. His hobbies include hunting elastic bands and lounging on the couch. He also specializes in stunt acrobatics while hunting the string. He likes being petted and eats treats from the hand, although he is still a bit cautious. Kittens sometimes sleep together, sometimes separately - they can eat from one bowl without any fights. Sometimes they help each other in the "cat litter box". They have fights in the form of play, wrestling, and playing tag are part of their daily routine. Sometimes Pompon growls as if he has caught a toy or a treat. The kittens are interested in the cat resident, they are not afraid of her, they would like to approach, sniff her, hunt her tail, etc., but the kitten is a loner so she does not want their company, so she hisses or growls when they come very close and they usually move away. Apart from that, they live together peacefully and the caregiver calmly leaves them all together at night and for many hours during the day (work). With people they are friendly, they eat treats from the hand, they also climb onto the caregiver's lap for treats or during fishing games. They like to sleep in view, on the couch next to the caregiver, Minia allows herself to be picked up in the hands, Pompon is still a bit cautious, sometimes allows himself to be petted, but sometimes moves away. They have not had contact with children. Both cats use the litter box without any problems. They are young so they have a lot of energy, curious, the caregiver would not call it misbehavior, but surely you need to play with them or provide company so they can play with the other cat. We are looking for a home for Minii that is indoor-only, loving, safe, with a secured balcony (if there is one) and/or windows, which will surround her with the best care. Most preferably for adoption with her brother Pompon or with another social cat. WARNING!

Minia razem z rodzeństwem przyjechała do fundacji z jednej z podkrakowskich miejscowości, obecnie mieszka z bratem Pomponem w domu tymczasowym, gdzie oboje czekają na adopcję. Minia to towarzyska i łagodna koteczka. Jej brat Pompon to dostojny kocurek. Kociaki czasem śpią razem, a czasem osobno- mogą jeść z jednej miski bez żadnych kłótni. Czasem pomagają sobie wzajemnie w “kociej toalecie”. UWAGA! About Minia

What life with Minia looks like

Minia is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
