Adopt Minka

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

Found location/date: ROW/Keller of the finder on 24.02.2026 Gender: female Age: not yet known neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, FIV and FeLV negative UPDATE 4.05.2026 The female cat with the special fur color has developed very well in the last period. She seems to know that a lot depends on it. Although her eye still appears somewhat noticeable, it is actually just an optical flaw that does not hurt and does not hinder her in any way. She also only has her canine teeth left after the dental operation, as the rest were severely inflamed and could not be saved. This does not prevent the delicate creature from enjoying her food portion to the last crumb. What Minka still lacks are people who show her affection. She is a lap cat and wants to be in contact, she wants to be seen. Living together with other cats would certainly be possible and important for Minka, but we view a free roam critically. For questions, please contact the animal shelter directly. UPDATE 22.04.2026 Minka is still being treated medically and will of course only move out when she is fit. UPDATE 16.03. This cat needs outdoor access.

UPDATE 16.03.2026 Die tapfer

About Minka

What life with Minka looks like

Minka is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Rotenburg a.d.F. e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Rotenburg a.d.F. e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Rotenburg a.d.F. e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Rotenburg a.d.F. e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
