Minka

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Minka was born in June 2026 and is currently about 21 cm tall. She is expected to reach a medium size of around 50 cm when fully grown. The young female dog stands out at first glance due to her special facial markings. The small "freckles" give Minka a unique charm and make her a real one-of-a-kind. But she has much more to offer than just her appearance: Minka is a lively, friendly and curious little personality who wants to discover something new every day. She observes her surroundings with great interest and approaches people openly and affably. As is typical for a puppy, Minka also has all sorts of whims in her head from time to time. She is in an important development phase in which she explores the world, gathers new experiences and gradually learns which rules come with living with humans. Therefore, she needs people who show her patience, understanding and loving consistency as she finds her way in life. Minka is not yet familiar with life in a house. Everyday noises, household routines and the many small and large impressions of a family will be new to her. Things like house training, leash training and relaxed alone time must also be built up step by step. Particularly being alone should be practiced gently and in small stages after a sufficient acclimatization period. We wish Minka a loving home that gives her security and a sense of belonging and lets her arrive without high expectations. Anyone willing to invest time, patience and heart in the upbringing of a young female dog will be rewarded with a loyal companion who still has her whole life ahead of her and will conquer many hearts with her special charm. Minka is vaccinated and microchipped and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary inspection. Due to her age, she is not yet spayed. Departure possible immediately! General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so that we can always reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much in conveying a possibly good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new processes and new impressions - can also show itself differently. This is quite normal and is part of every change process. Many dogs even open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They should provide orientation and show how the dog presents itself in the shelter - and what potential is in him. We are convinced: With patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and develop positively.

About Minka

What life with Minka looks like

Minka is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Minka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
