adoption requirements adoption process Now request these animals! adoption requirements adoption process Now request these cats! Black Pearl and pretty Tiger Lady seek a cozy home. Are you looking for a cat pair? Then you are at the right address. These are the approximately 2.5-year-old sisters Minka and Mortisha. The two have not had an easy life so far. They were found with their other siblings next to a waste disposal site on a very busy street. It was clear that the then 3-month-old kittens could not stay there. They were all very weak, hungry, and full of parasites. The little ones had to be fatten up first at one of our foster homes. Now Minka and Mortisha are looking for their forever home, so they can finally settle in. Both female cats are initially a bit shy, so the two should also only be rehomed together. They give each other security and are very attached to each other. However, once they have gained some trust, the two are the best cats you could wish for. We therefore wish for the two a quiet and patient family that will allow them to settle in their new home and give them the time they need. Life as an outdoor cat is unfortunately not suitable for the two. Through their past, Minka and Mortisha are simply too accustomed to traffic and cannot properly assess the danger. However, the two would certainly be happy about a secure balcony where they can enjoy the sun and observe birds. This is, however, not a must. Minka unfortunately contracted FCoV last year, which then also mutated. She was successfully treated and has successfully overcome the illness. She has also not suffered any lasting damage from it. Who gives the two beauties a second chance? Minka and Mortisha are always ready to move into their new home. For their travel arrangements, they, like all our cats, are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. They also have an EU pet passport in their luggage and can travel after a positive result. Many thanks to Steffi H-Z and Silvie S., you gave the two their great names and thus their identity! Date: 21.07.

About Minka&Mortisha

What life with Minka&Mortisha looks like

Minka&Mortisha is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minka&Mortisha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minka&Mortisha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minka&Mortisha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minka&Mortisha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minka&Mortisha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minka&Mortisha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minka&Mortisha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
