Adopt Minnos (vermittelt)

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Name Minnosch Born 15.01.2024 Gender female dog Breed mixed breed Size rather small, ca. 6 kg foster home Minnos our little runaway, has found her people 🙂 We are very happy and wish her many beautiful shared experiences. The age given here is often an estimate, as we do not always know the exact age. Other information, such as size, is subjective. The little mouse lives on a foster home with other dogs and cats and is doing great. She is a loving and clingy mouse who always wants to be with people. She loves to snuggle and lie on someone's lap. She is friendly and open with people, but has not met children yet, but we could certainly imagine that it would work. She has not yet learned to be alone. She comments with whining on short absences (e.g., taking out the trash, getting the mail…). This needs to be practiced with her in small steps. Outside, she is still unsettled by the many new sounds and encounters. Then she stands still and observes. She also stays close to her person on the lead and has shown no prey drive so far. For Minnosch, we are looking for people who can show her how wonderful the world can be and who like a dog that seeks physical closeness. The little female dog lived with her 4 siblings and parents with an older lady. Unfortunately, she is not capable of taking care of all the dogs adequately and has asked for help. All the dogs are friendly with people and get along well in the pack. They are all young, lively, and open-minded, and with some practice and patience from the people, they should learn the "dog once one" relatively quickly. We would be very happy if we could help the dog family find a new, responsible home. We are looking for people who are willing to take on the adventure of an international dog and give him a second chance at a responsible home. If you are interested in this great dog, please fill out the Referral Form or call us at the phone number provided. Here are a few pictures. To enlarge, please click on an image.

About Minnos (vermittelt)

What life with Minnos (vermittelt) looks like

Minnos (vermittelt) is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minnos (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minnos (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minnos (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minnos (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minnos (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minnos (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minnos (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
