adoption requirements adoption process Now meet this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Mira has found a home! Her story: Our delicate beauty Mira could depart for her foster home in mid-November. And as expected, she unfolds here into an absolute dream dog. Mira is already house-trained, gets along very well with the other dogs in the household, behaves absolutely unobtrusively, and can also already spend some time alone with her dog buddies. In the household, she is a rather quiet and cuddly female dog, who however very much enjoys nose work. On her nature walks, Mira is always sniffing around. Everything is so interesting and new. At 52 cm and 19 kg, Mira has a nice medium size. Miras appearance leaves plenty of room for speculation regarding her breed characteristics. It could be a Lab mix, the delicate statue and the large floppy ears, as well as the longer snout could just as easily point to certain hunting or scent hound breeds. Everything is possible, nothing is certain. Therefore, one should be prepared for everything. A visit to a positively working dog training class and tracking could also make Mira happy, to both challenge her body and her mind. Mira learns a lot and very quickly in her foster home, which is why we are sure that she is ready for her own family. She is looking forward to long, adventurous nature walks and especially to a warm, cuddly place in your house and your heart. Who would like to visit Mira in her foster family? She comes microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, together with her EU pet passport. Stand: 27.11.

Wer möchte Mira in ihrer Pflegefamilie besuchen ? Stand: 27.11.2024

About Mira

What life with Mira looks like

Mira is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
