adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Mira was locally adopted! Her story: The little Mira is about 7 weeks old and just at the beginning of her life. Together with her mother Emmi and her six siblings Rumi, Zora, Maura, Allie, Bente, and Lexa, she was found on the street and subsequently brought to a shelter. There, the little dog family is now in safety and can hope to move into a loving home soon. Mira is an energetic little puppy girl, curiously exploring her surroundings. She is full of life, playful, and discovers a little bit more of the world every day. She is still a tiny puppy, but of course, she will grow and continue to develop. Just like her siblings, she will eventually enter puberty – an exciting phase where young dogs especially need a lot of patience, understanding, and a loving, clear guidance. We wish for people with hearts who will give her time to settle in and teach her step by step everything a dog needs to know for a happy life in a family. A visit to a positively working dog training class could be a beautiful way to learn together and give Mira security in everyday life. Mira has not yet experienced life in a house or an apartment. Things like everyday noises, walks, new impressions, or also house training will be discovered by her in her new home. With loving guidance and a little patience, she will certainly develop into a loyal and cheerful companion. Mira travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas, as well as with an EU pet passport, and can move in with you for an adoption fee of 500 Euros. Do you want to give Mira the chance to find a loving home and accompany her on her journey into life? A heartfelt thank you goes to her namesake Katarina, who gave Mira her beautiful name. As of: 11.03.

Stand: 11.03.2026

About Mira

What life with Mira looks like

Mira is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
