Miranda

Mixed Breed · Female

🐾❤️ MIRANDA — LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME OR LONG‑TERM FOSTER ❤️🐾 Beautiful Miranda arrived in the UK in March, and despite her family being given training guides and support, she has sadly found herself needing a new home. She was allowed to “be the boss” a little too much, and because she was mostly kept outside, she never got the chance to properly learn how to be a family dog. This has made coming indoors a bit confusing for her and slowed down her development — but with the right home, she will absolutely flourish. She’s a shy, sensitive girl who will truly blossom in the right environment. With a good dose of livestock guardian breed in her, she’ll always be a little independent and naturally aloof — but with gentle guidance and encouragement, she’s already showing how much potential she has. She’ll benefit from being slowly and kindly nudged outside her comfort zone, as if left to make all her own decisions she’s quite content in her own company. Another confident dog would really help her grow; she has already enjoyed playing with a visiting dog in her foster home. She’s a big girl who is more prone to flight than fight, and she has shown no signs of aggression. She can be unsure around men at first, but we fully expect this to improve as she learns that life in a loving family is safe and predictable. With patience, routine, and the right home, she’s going to flourish into the wonderful companion we know she can be. She is around 20kg, super friendly, and gets on fabulously with other dogs. She has previously lived with young children, cats, and multiple dogs, and she is nothing but loving. Like most dogs, she does have a bit of a prey drive, so ongoing training and guidance will be important. She may be nervous at first and hide, but with time, patience, and gentle reassurance, she comes out of her shell beautifully. ✨ Neutered ✨ Has passport ✨ Can travel this month ✨ Great with dogs, cats, and children ✨ Very affectionate and eager to bond ✨ Needs continued training and confidence‑building Miranda just needs a patient, kind home — someone who will guide her gently and help her catch up on the family life she missed out on. She has so much love to give and truly deserves her happy ending. If you’re interested in offering Miranda the forever home she deserves, please message us. PLEASE SHARE — it truly helps her reach the right people. Home check and adoption fee apply.

About Miranda

What life with Miranda looks like

Miranda is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue in Bulgaria.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇬Adopting from Bulgaria

Bulgarian shelters typically include full vet workup, sterilization, and passport. Many coordinate with EU rescue partners for direct transport to adopter cities in Germany, Netherlands, and Austria.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miranda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miranda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miranda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miranda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miranda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miranda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miranda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
