Mirna

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Mirna: a funny and stubborn 13.5-year-old dog looking for a forever home! Mirna is a young dog who moved in with people and had a wonderful life here. She lived with older people and was very happy with the peace and attention. Unfortunately, she could no longer live here and moved to the family of these people. This was too busy for Mirna and she was unhappy. Therefore, it was decided to look for a new place for this girl. Mirna had to get used to it, but in the meantime she has fully adjusted! She is sometimes a bit hesitant with new people, but if she knows you, she wants a hug from you! She also loves it when you throw her ball and wants you to keep going until she's done. She also likes to go for a walk, but she doesn't need to go far anymore. Mirna knows life in the house, she is clean, can be alone for a while, is watchful, knows the car and enjoys her bed. She can get along with dogs, but she doesn't let her cheese fall from her mouth and that's fine of course. She could live with a dog, but a male would be preferred. Cats are not an option for her, because she likes to run after them. Mirna always lived with older people and loved it! In the other house she lived with small children of 4 and 6 years and found this really too busy. For her we are looking for a house without children and where there is not too much traffic. For Mirna we are looking for a nice and quiet household where she can be happy again. With people who give her time to get used to and find her just as funny as we do and where she can enjoy her old age.

Mirna moest hier even wennen, maar ondertussen is zij helemaal gewend!

About Mirna

What life with Mirna looks like

Mirna is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dierenopvang Koningen in Netherlands.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mirna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mirna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenopvang Koningen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mirna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mirna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenopvang Koningen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mirna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mirna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenopvang Koningen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mirna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
