MIRO

Male · Young · 3 years

Miro, born in August 2023, is a neutered Cane Corso Boxer mix. He came to us due to a lack of ownership documentation. Currently, Miro weighs 32 kg and stands 60 cm tall. He is friendly and open to his caregivers but reacts differently to strangers, often remaining neutral. Miro does not like physical contact from strangers and does not appreciate being touched. It is essential to respect his boundaries and allow him to decide when he wants to interact. Miro is sometimes uncertain around other dogs but is generally compatible. A confident female dog could be a suitable social partner for him after a period of getting to know each other. Miro is stable and confident in his environment. Cars, bicyclists, and joggers do not pose a problem for him. There is currently no experience with other animals. Miro knows basic commands. He walks well on a leash and has a good recall, but both areas can still be improved with distractions. When led clearly and calmly, Miro orients himself well to his human and accepts their leadership. We are looking for a dog-experienced home without young children for Miro. His future owners should provide clear boundaries and lead him calmly, confidently, and structuredly through everyday life. Miro needs people who can provide him with security, guidance, and are willing to continue working with him. Miro is a young dog with good potential who will benefit from reliable guidance and a structured daily routine. We are looking for people who enjoy working with him and providing the security he needs for positive development. As Miro is classified as a Category II listing dog in Bavaria, the new owner should inform themselves about the conditions for keeping such dogs with their local authorities.

DE·Show original

-0Fax: 089/90 73 20E-Mail

About MIRO

What life with MIRO looks like

MIRO is a young adult dog waiting at Tierschutzverein München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting MIRO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MIRO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MIRO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MIRO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MIRO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MIRO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein München early rather than rehoming privately; they know MIRO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
