Adopt Miro (Миро)

Male · Senior · 12 years

Miro is an energetic, friendly, and experienced dog looking for his calm family! Although he is no longer in his prime, he is full of life and greets everyone with great excitement. Miro gets along well with other dogs and easily adapts to enclosed spaces and car travel. His only "disadvantage" is that he pulls strongly on the leash at the beginning of walks, but with some training, this issue will be managed. He is the ideal companion for a not very dynamic family (with children over 12 years old) that can provide him a comfortable life outside the shelter. Come meet Miro in Dolni Bogrov! The shelter is open Monday to Friday (closed). Walks and volunteer assistance are held every day from 10:00 to 14:00 (organized walks: Sunday). Other hours/days for volunteers are possible with special permission. Miro's profile was created by Ralitsa Milanova, a certified trainer, with many years of experience in rehabilitation and trauma-informed approach when working with dogs. Supported by Dogs Trust and with the assistance of the Sofia Municipality.

About Miro (Миро)

What life with Miro (Миро) looks like

Miro (Миро) is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Ecoravnovesie Sofia in Sofia.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇧🇬Adopting from Bulgaria

Bulgarian shelters typically include full vet workup, sterilization, and passport. Many coordinate with EU rescue partners for direct transport to adopter cities in Germany, Netherlands, and Austria.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miro (Миро), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miro (Миро)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ecoravnovesie Sofia handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miro (Миро) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miro (Миро) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ecoravnovesie Sofia will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miro (Миро) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miro (Миро) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ecoravnovesie Sofia early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miro (Миро) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (BG). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
