Misha (Міша)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Our Mishka... will he ever have a family? Is our city really so indifferent to the fate of animals from the animal shelter... everyone wants purebred puppies, boys that will grow no bigger than 2 kg... I understand that boys are for not spending money on spaying, and 2 kg is so they eat less... And don't even dare, in the animal shelter we hear this very often - "we need a small dog so it eats less". There's nothing to say in response. Mishka doesn't meet these requirements at all! He's huge, plump, eats a lot, very independent, can snap if he doesn't like what is being done to him. He's against leashes! How many posts have been written about him, it's impossible to count... but there's not a single adoption proposal. And it's already clear that he will live out his whole life in the kennel run 5x2... Mishka was rescued from terrible conditions, from a family with more than 15 dogs, all thin, exhausted and sick... Mishka weighed only 7 kg then and was on the brink of death. When you look at Mishka, your heart immediately feels light, you remember a warm home, a soft blanket and delicious food, and you realize that Mishka is the dog who, more than anyone else, should be in a family. He is soft and warm, like a big, soft toy.

About Misha (Міша)

What life with Misha (Міша) looks like

Misha (Міша) is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Happy Paw Kirovohrad in Ukraine.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇺🇦Adopting from Ukraine

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Misha (Міша), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Misha (Міша)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Kirovohrad handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Misha (Міша) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Misha (Міша) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Kirovohrad will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Misha (Міша) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Misha (Міша) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Kirovohrad early rather than rehoming privately; they know Misha (Міша) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
