Missy

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Senior · 11 years

Hello there, my name is Missy. I am a 11.5 year old lady, looking for my new forever home! Initially, I can be quite shy and I will need some patience but I am slowly building up my confidence. I love a good comfy bed and hidden spaces, so you will often find me curled up for a cat nap throughout the day, but I will always come out for lots of dreamies. I really love my own space and my independence so would really suit a home where I can be loved from afar, with lots of patience and understanding. I would prefer a quieter home without any children, where I can settle down with my new owners. I have never lived with other cats or dogs before, so I think I would also prefer to be the only pet in the home, where my new owners can show me lots of love. I am more of an indoor girly, but a nice garden to sunbathe in from time to time would be lovely! If you have space in your home and your heart for a quiet lady like me, please register your interest!I am currently in a foster home whilst I await my forever home. About Missy

What life with Missy looks like

Missy is a senior mixed breed cat cat waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Missy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Missy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Missy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Missy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Missy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Missy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Missy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
