European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 10 years

Identified by microchip Type: European Color: Tabby and white - Coat: short Neutered Tested FIV (AIDS) negative - FELV (Feline Leukemia) negative Vaccinated for Typhus and Coryza Health: all is well In a foster home Hello, I'm Mistsouko, a big talker! I spent a long time outside, to the point of ending up in a really bad shape and very thin. Fortunately, an association extended a paw to me. Since then, I've been at the shelter, and even though they take good care of me, I really want to find a family... the right one, the last one. I'm a big sensitive heart. Read more... I like humans, but I need you to come towards me gently. Sudden movements still scare me a little. Once I trust you, I come to ask for cuddles, put my head in your hand and purr quietly. They say I am calm, sometimes a bit shy, but never aggressive. Just gentle. I have a little special feature: I don't have any teeth anymore, due to a complete extraction... but don't worry, it doesn't stop me from enthusiastically finishing my bowl. I'm a real gourmet — I love pâté (with a little extra zucchini, if you want to really make me happy). What I love above all: - Gentle pets and respectful humans - My cardboard scratcher: my little ritual every time I go out - Peaceful moments, without noise, without stress - And of course... delicious meals (pâté + zucchini team!) Regarding roommates, let's not fool ourselves: I'm rather solo at heart. Other cats are not my thing. So, for me to feel good, a home without another cat would be perfect. Today, I'm not looking for a lot of things: just a quiet house, a caring presence, and stability that I've never known. I've given a lot, I've taken a lot... it's time someone chooses me too. I'm ready to love you deeply, in my own way. Slowly. For a long time. I'm not a passing cat. I'm a heart cat. The kind that will accompany you silently, that will listen to you tell about your days, that will look at you with gratitude! Find Mistsouko on the shelter's Facebook page.

About Mistsouko

What life with Mistsouko looks like

Mistsouko is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mistsouko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mistsouko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mistsouko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mistsouko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mistsouko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mistsouko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mistsouko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
