Mittens and Misty are Looking for a Loving Home Together Sweet sisters are looking for a new loving home that will become their forever home. One black and white, which we’ve been calling Mittens, and one tortie and white which we’ve been calling Misty. Neither of them seems to be aware of their names anyway! They were both very nervous when they arrived, VERY skinny, and really scabby from flea allergies with masses of hair missing. After a week in foster care, they are putting on weight (you could feel all of the tortie’s vertebrae all down her back) and their coats look a lot better already. Mittens is the braver of the two by a long way. Misty spent three days under the sofa when she arrived. They are both really affectionate and friendly when they’re a bit more sure of themselves. Mittens curled up on her carer’s lap yesterday evening for ages and Misty got into bed (she likes to be near your face). Mittens REALLY doesn’t like being picked up, and she can be quite feisty if you do something she’d rather you didn’t (ie try to bathe her eyes). She has huge round eyes that make her look permanently startled. Just about the first thing, she did when she came out of hiding was going to the toy box and empty it to see which toy she’d like to play with. She’ll play happily on her own but really likes someone to play with her. Misty is also quite playful, but just not as brave. She’s still quite nervous (and probably always will be). They sort of get on, but they would be heartbroken if they were separated. No hint of tortitude from the tortie 😉 We don’t know what they would be like with children, but given that Mittens particularly can be a bit hasty with her claws, we would think only older children/teenagers, or adults only. They LOVE their food. Both are really small cats – Mittens looks like a 6-month kitten.
