The MITZI appeared inside the our shelter one morning—someone pushed it through the gate and also left its vaccination record, although it had only been vaccinated as a dog, many years ago. It wore a collar with a metal buckle, a clear sign that it had lived on a chain. It had a microchip, and the previous owner was contacted. She said she had returned to her country and given the dog to another person. Unfortunately, this “new home” meant a life of confinement and without veterinary care. The MITZI is a very gentle dog, but it arrives with fears—understandable for one who has never known true affection. It is nervous in the early meetings, but shows a great willingness to trust. It loves affection and, with some attention and patience, it relaxes and starts to show its sweet side. It is very sociable with other dogs and does well on a leash. The MITZI will be delivered vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and with a microchip.

O Mitzi apareceu dentro do abrigo numa manhã — alguém o empurrou pelo portão e deixou também o seu boletim de vacinas, embora só tivesse sido vacinado em cachorro, há muitos anos. Usava uma coleira com gancho metálico, sinal claro de que viveu acorrentado. Tinha microchip, e a antiga tutora foi contactada. Disse ter regressado ao seu país e entregue o cão a outra pessoa. Infelizmente, essa “nova casa” significou uma vida presa e sem cuidados veterinários. O Mitzi é um cão muito meigo, mas chega com receios — compreensíveis para quem nunca conheceu verdadeiro afecto. Está nervoso nos primeiros encontros, mas demonstra uma enorme vontade de confiar. Gosta de mimos e, com alguma atenção e paciência, relaxa e começa a mostrar o seu lado doce. É muito sociável com outros cães e anda bem de trela. O Mitzi será entregue vacinado, desparasitado, esterilizado e com microchip.
