Miu

Female · Kitten · 2 months

Miu is a sweet and cuddly, confident, playful and lively young female cat. She is litter trained and has been socialized with other cats and dogs. She is only available for adoption with or to a similarly aged female kitten! Miu was found when she was approximately three weeks old. Our animal care team has bottle-fed her, so she is now a strong young female cat with plenty of energy and mischief in her. She is looking for a home with another female cat her age, so they can grow up and learn from each other. Miu is affectionate and enjoys being petted or playing with a cat toy. She has a lot of energy, typical for her age, and needs to be kept busy. A long working day without another person at home is not compatible with her needs. After settling in, she would like the opportunity to explore the world outside, as she is very curious and has a strong desire to discover new things. She has no problems with other animals, and has already met dogs.

About Miu

What life with Miu looks like

Miu is a large puppy/kitten cat waiting at Tierheim Hamburg in Hamburg.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Hamburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Hamburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Hamburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
