Mochi

Doberman Β· Male Β· Puppy Β· 5 months

Mochi is a big, bouncy puppy who loves to play and spend time with his people. He has no idea of his size and loves to climb on laps! He enjoys showing off his best β€˜sit’ and finds harness training very exciting! Mochi makes all of his handlers giggle when he’s around and is patiently waiting for his forever home to whisk him away and give him all the love he deserves! Meet Mochi, a large-breed puppy looking for his forever home. Mochi will need to be the only dog in the home due to having a history of resource guarding in his previous home. He does enjoy walking with other dogs but can be a playful puppy. Mochi has shown scavenging behaviours in the previous home, so his future home should be able to keep him separated from the kitchen and any bins around the house. Mochi can struggle with being left, so he will need a home with minimal leaving hours, and he would benefit from adopters who have the time to build his confidence up with his leaving time. His future home should also have the ability to separate him from the front door, as he does have a habit of trying to run out with his people. Mochi could live with older secondary-aged children. He has shown worries around car travel and would like his adopters to slowly build up his confidence around car travel.

About Mochi

What life with Mochi looks like

Mochi is a large puppy doberman dog waiting at Dogs Trust Harefield in Harefield.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mochi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mochi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Harefield handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mochi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mochi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Harefield will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Mochi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mochi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Harefield early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mochi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
