Mojito

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

We would like to reintroduce the gorgeous Mojito to you, unfortunately he has been returned to our care after living in the big smoke didn’t work out for him. Mojito is such a lovely boy with a great personality, he is very playful and loves to cuddle up with his trusted friends . He has been on a little glamping holiday and was a very good boy and enjoyed the peace and quiet of countryside life . Mojito loves a good run around collar club to stretch his little legs & likes going on long walks with his foster parents and exploring the world one sniff at a time. Mojito can be nervous on first meets so will need some time to come around , but once he loves you he LOVESSSS you! Since coming back from London Mojito has unfortunately become reactive to other dogs and people, this has improved already with some set decompression time and he is now starting to work on some training sessions with the behaviour team to get him back to where he was. This is mainly frustration and fear based and he is doing well at working on it! His new owners will need to take him to training classes to continue on this work. Mojito is looking for an adult only pet free home currently, where he can easily decompress and settle into his new life. His new owners will need to work from home/be at home most of the time as he does struggle with separation anxiety which is also being worked on . Mojito is such a smart boy that is eager to learn and loves a good treat, so he is a great candidate for training ! Could you be his forever family?

About Mojito

What life with Mojito looks like

Mojito is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Cardiff Dogs Home.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mojito, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mojito?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cardiff Dogs Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mojito on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mojito if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cardiff Dogs Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mojito already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mojito isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cardiff Dogs Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mojito and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
