Mokka

Mixed Breed · Male

Breed: mixed-breed male dog Age: born around 07/2022 Hello and a triple hip, hip, hurray! I am Mokka, a young adult mixed-breed male dog in a large size. I have a short white fur cut with beautiful patches in various shades of brown. My pricked ears are carried proudly, just like Terriers are supposed to. On my snout, I have a lot of little dots that look like freckles and make me look stunningly cute and adorable in detail. From my brown eyes, pure joy, loyalty, faithfulness, and love shine. My caretakers can't get enough of me when they talk about me. They nickname me a giant people lover who spins around and goes full speed when a caretaker enters the leash area … and then the kisses are free and the love declarations are 100% from my side! I get along well with the other doggies, and I am already dominant in dealing with male dogs. I came to this shelter from another animal shelter. Unfortunately, nothing else is known about my past. I am looking for a family with loving people who can make up for my lost time! I want to feel how it is to be loved and wish to be a part of your life. I dream of sitting on your lap and enjoying the 24-hour round-the-clock care package of a family dog. I've heard that when you find your family, there is a reliable food delivery service (?), an adventurous leisure program (?), and love as much as you wish (???!!!) -> it sounds like paradise on earth and CLEARLY I want to find it! My own happiness I can't make clear, but my paws wouldn't know where to step either … That's why I hope very much that YOU will write to me so that my handlers can take care of us finding each other. With a heartwarming "Wuff," Before I travel to my new home, I will still be neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. If you would like to adopt me, please contact my handlers.

About Mokka

What life with Mokka looks like

Mokka is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Traurige Hundeherzen e.V. in Hamburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mokka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mokka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Traurige Hundeherzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mokka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mokka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Traurige Hundeherzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mokka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mokka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Traurige Hundeherzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mokka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
