Molly

Dachshund · Female · Young · 3 years

Molly is a 3-year-old female Dachshund who arrived at our shelter in September with several other dogs and her 1-week-old puppies. Her previous owners no longer wanted to care for them. Since her arrival, Molly has devoted all her energy to caring for her babies. Today, her mission as a mom is almost over: her puppies have all found their families, and it's now her turn to find one that will offer her a beautiful life! Molly has mainly lived indoors and unfortunately hasn't had much opportunity to discover the outside world. She therefore still has a lot to explore! Curious, lively, and full of energy, she just wants to enjoy life and make up for lost time. She will need to be offered nice walks, activities, and sufficient daily exercise to let her unwind and flourish fully. In terms of character, Molly is a little dog who loves attention and cuddles. She appreciates human presence and can live with respectful children. She could also share her home with another dog, provided the introductions go well. On the other hand, cats are not her friends: she will not be able to live with them. For her well-being, we are looking for a family living in a house with a garden for Molly. Despite her small size, she needs space to exercise and enjoy the outdoors. Molly also tends to bark, a point that her future family will need to take into account. After devoting her first weeks to the happiness of her puppies, Molly deserves in turn to discover the joys of a real family life. A welcoming home, beautiful adventures, cuddles at will, and humans ready to make her discover the world: this is all this little ball of energy needs!

About Molly

What life with Molly looks like

Molly is a young adult dachshund dog waiting at SPA Colmar in France.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Molly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Molly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Colmar handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Molly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Molly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Colmar will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Molly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Molly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Colmar early rather than rehoming privately; they know Molly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
