Molly

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 7 years

Molly (neutered/microchipped) is about 7 years old and a fairly calm, self-assured cat. She enjoys affection on her own terms: she loves having her head scratched, but stroking along her back and being picked up are not really her thing. When she's in a cuddly mood, though, she makes that very clear. Molly likes to play with mice and felt balls if you motivate her. Most of the time, however, she lies comfortably on the windowsill, enjoys the view outside, or retreats to a high shelf to watch everything in peace. In winter she prefers the warm radiator. Molly is very low-maintenance: she doesn't beg for food, knows her litter tray, and is familiar with the usual household noises. She also knows how to behave at the vet. She gets along well with children, is open to new people, and likes to join in when there are guests. One point is important to her, however: she does not want to share her home with other cats. Molly wishes for a quiet domain all to herself, with people who value her independence and love her just the way she is. In return, she gives her people all the more love once she feels understood. A secured balcony or garden would be a dream, as she knows and enjoys spending time outdoors.

DE·Show original

About Molly

What life with Molly looks like

Molly is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Leise-Pfoten e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Molly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Molly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Leise-Pfoten e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Molly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Molly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Leise-Pfoten e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Molly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Molly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Leise-Pfoten e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Molly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
