Molly came to us after her owner passed away and no one from the family could take her in. In the first few days, Molly was very upset and grieving, and wouldn't eat anything. Slowly, Molly got used to her new environment and came out of her hiding place, and then we could see the extent of her obesity. Her owner had obviously meant well with the feeding, as Molly had become quite overweight. She was mainly fed with "Soup" and "Filet" and a lot of treats. During a recent visit to the vet, Molly could also be weighed. She brings 8.9 kg on the scale, which is of course far too much. Since she also had digestive issues and wasn't defecating regularly, she now gets special dry food, which she likes to eat and has helped improve her digestion. Molly's spirits are now lifted, and she likes to walk around the hallway and peek into the cabinets. For her weight, she is surprisingly agile and climbs to the higher levels in her room. Apart from the weight issue, no health problems were discovered during the vet check. Molly has been vaccinated; she has already been neutered and microchipped. Molly is approximately 8 years old and has always lived as a pure indoor cat without any other fellow animals, so we currently cannot say whether she gets along with other cats. She is very friendly towards people and enjoys being petted and combed. Sometimes she gets a bit annoyed when she's supposed to go into her room and would rather go for a walk 🙂 We are looking for a new home for Molly, where the amount of food will be consistently monitored, as she urgently needs to lose weight.

Molly kam zu uns, nachdem ihre Besitzerin verstorben war und niemand aus der Familie sie aufnehmen konnte. Sie war in den ersten Tagen bei uns sehr durcheinander und trauerte und fraß gar nichts. Langsam gewöhnte Molly sich ein und kam auch aus ihrer Höhle heraus und da sahen wir das ganze Ausmaß ihrer Fülle. Ihr Frauchen hatte es leider zu gut mit dem Füttern gemeint, so dass Molly sehr aus den Fugen geraten ist. Sie wurde hauptsächlich mit „Soup“ und „Filet“ und jeder Menge Leckerli gefüttert. Bei einem Tierarztbesuch vor kurzem konnte Molly dann auch gewogen werden. Sie bringt 8,9 kg auf die Waage, was natürlich viel zu viel ist. Da sie auch Probleme mit der Verdauung hatte und nicht regelmäßig Kot absetzte, bekommt sie nun ein spezielles Trockenfutter, welches sie gerne frisst und die Verdauung in Schwung gebracht hat. Inzwischen sind Mollys Lebensgeister wieder geweckt und sie geht gerne im Flur spazieren und guckt neugierig in die Schränke. Für ihr Gewicht ist sie erstaunlich beweglich und klettert in ihrem Zimmer auch in die höheren Etagen. Außer dem Übergewicht wurden beim Check beim Tierarzt keine gesundheitlichen Probleme entdeckt. Molly wurde geimpft; kastriert und gechipt ist sie bereits. Molly ist ca. 8 Jahre alt und hat immer als reine Wohnungskatze und ohne weitere Artgenossen gelebt, so dass wir im Moment noch nicht sagen können, ob sie sich mit anderen Katzen verträgt. Sie ist Menschen gegenüber sehr freundlich und lässt sich gerne streicheln und auch kämmen. Manchmal wird sie ein wenig ärgerlich, wenn sie in ihr Zimmer soll und lieber noch spazieren gehen will 🙂 Wir suchen ein neues Zuhause für Molly, in dem konsequent auf die Futtermenge geachtet wird, denn sie muss dringend das Gewicht reduzieren.
