Mona

Female · Young · 2 years

Mona is a true fighter. A dog whose strength and resilience impress us every day. Found on the street in a terrible state, Mona had suffered severe traumas. One of her paws had been amputated and she also showed sequelae probably related to an accident. Despite everything she has gone through, she has never lost this incredible desire to live. Today, Mona is by our side, in full rehabilitation. She is progressing, managing to move and even starting to put her paw on the ground. Her disability does not prevent her from enjoying life, playing, loving and surprising us every day a little more. Mona is full of joy and affection. She is gentle, kind, very endearing, but she also has her little character: she knows what she wants and does not let anyone walk on her paws! However, she is not a dominant dog. She is sociable with dogs, cats and children. Mona also likes to have her moments of tranquility. She will need a secure, calm and caring home, where she can evolve at her own pace, enjoy her outings, her freedom and above all receive all the attention she deserves. Adopting Mona is offering a real life to a dog who has fought for hers. A simple, sweet and happy life, surrounded by people ready to love her as she is. Because beyond her disability, Mona is above all a dog full of life, character and love.

FR·Show original

About Mona

What life with Mona looks like

Mona is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe in France.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mona, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mona?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mona on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mona if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Mona already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mona isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mona and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
