Adopt Mona (walks differently)

Female · Adult · 4 years

Mona is full of character and would make a lovely pet! She was a stray cat up until December 2025. Since then, she has been in foster care. Neuter status: She was already spayed when rescued. She has a tattoo inside her ear, so she was part of a TNR. Weight: 3-4 kg Rescue Story in brief as told by her rescuer: “I found Mona at the start of December 2025, on a cold rainy night. I was driving and I saw her curled up insider herself, in the middle of the road, right next to the centre barriers separating the opposite lanes. I stopped and crossed the street through the other driving cars and fortunately she didn't get scared and ran, because if she had done so, the cars would have hit her again. (She was probably hit in the first place while trying to cross the street). I was able to take her in my car and go to the vet. She was all bloody and in pain.” Health or disability details: Because of the accident, her jaw line is not perfectly aligned and her right front leg is not usable anymore. According to the vet, it doesn't need amputation as long as she lives inside and she can't hurt her leg jumping or scratching it to rough surfaces. Temperament details: Mona is very eager to receive attention and to be petted. She is loving and purrs a lot, she likes to be scratched on her head. She is pretty easily adaptable, she has been sociable with strangers as well. However, having spent all her life on the streets, she has some limits when it comes to certain touches (around the ears for example, or sudden moves). If she doesn't like it, she becomes defensive, this is why children may not be a good idea for her. Because of the fact that she can't use her right front leg, she doesn't seem to be able to jump to high places, and she walks more like a bunny. She has been moderately playful. She plays with toys occasionally. From January 26 until end of February 26 she shared her room with other young cats and she got along well with them. At this moment, she is living alone. She is likely to be living with new cats soon as the rescuer is taking in new animals a and when they need help.

About Mona (walks differently)

What life with Mona (walks differently) looks like

Mona (walks differently) is a small adult cat waiting at Miracle in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mona (walks differently), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mona (walks differently)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Miracle handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mona (walks differently) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mona (walks differently) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Miracle will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mona (walks differently) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mona (walks differently) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Miracle early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mona (walks differently) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
