Mona

Female · Puppy · 10 months

Mona is a young mixed-breed girl, who was found on the streets, in a good condition, but without a microchip, and noone has come to look for her.... Her age is approximate estimation by the veterinary, she can also be younger. She is most likely a mix between a Labrador, Majorcan Shephard, perhaps some Kelpie mixed in her. She is an active, intelligent dog, Mona is looking for dog-experienced home who are physically active and interested in some form of dog training, whether it is agility, obedience, tricks training or schooling with a purpose, like for assistance or support animal. In the shelter, Mona is living with a group of dogs, both male and female, and she would love to join a home where another dog is already present, so all her emotional, mental and social needs are not only depending on the humans, but with experienced and engaged humans, she could also be an only dog of the family. Her shoulder height is currently just 44cm, and we believe she will still grow a bit, but not very much.

About Mona

What life with Mona looks like

Mona is a medium-sized puppy/kitten dog waiting at Triple A Marbella in Marbella.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mona, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mona?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Triple A Marbella handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mona on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mona if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Triple A Marbella will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mona already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mona isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Triple A Marbella early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mona and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
