Typisch für einen Sharpei benötigt er jedoch eine konsequente Führung und Training, besonders wenn Besuch kommt. Ohne diese neigt er dazu, Besucher einzuschränken und zeigt sich territorial.Unter guter Führung und mit klarer Raumverwaltung kann Moncho sehr gut an der lockeren Leine gehen. Er akzeptiert dies wunderbar und kann auch problemlos mit anderen Hunden spazieren gehen, ohne dass es zu Auseinandersetzungen kommt. Sein starker Jagdtrieb erfordert allerdings, dass er an einer kurzen Führ- oder Schleppleine geführt wird. Bei Begegnungen mit anderen Hunden zeigt sich, dass er in der Vergangenheit keine gute Sozialisierung erfahren hat. Ohne entsprechendes Management neigt er dazu, andere Hunde zu mobben, zu raufen und seine Stärke zu demonstrieren. Er ist ein regelrechter Raufbold, dessen Selbstbewusstsein gegenüber anderen Hunden beeindruckend ist. Er akzeptiert keine Grenzen, was bedeutet, dass er noch viel Training benötigt, bevor er problemlos frei mit anderen Hunden laufen kann. Klare Strukturen und Grenzen sind für ihn unerlässlich. Trotz allem ist er unglaublich charmant und zeigt sich alterstypisch pubertär und wild. Moncho ist ein agiler Hund, dem rein körperliche Auslastung für ein entspanntes Zusammenleben nicht ausreichen wird.In seiner Erziehung hat er bisher keinen Respekt, keine Manieren und keine Regeln kennengelernt, sodass auch hier noch viel Training erforderlich ist. Wasser und Schwimmen liebt er über alles, und es stört ihn nicht, wenn es draußen Minusgrade hat; der Hundepool wird genutzt, bis er zugefroren ist. Obwohl er ein Mischling ist und von den meisten sharpei-typischen körperlichen Problemen verschont geblieben ist, hat er bereits die zweite Operation am Augenlid hinter sich, da seine Wimpern das Auge verletzt haben. Dadurch ist seine Sicht etwas eingeschränkt.
