adoption requirements adoption process Ask about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Ask about this dog now! Monkey is a about 4 month old, cheerful male dog, who immediately charms with his loving and friendly nature. With a current shoulder height of about 30 cm and a weight of around 6 kg, he is still at the beginning of his life and is expected to develop into a medium-sized dog. Monkey shows himself as open-minded, affectionate and very people-oriented puppy. He enjoys every attention, loves to cuddle and is always friendly and gentle in his dealings. At the same time, he brings along the typical puppy curiosity and explores his environment interestedly and playfully. He also gets along well with other dogs and shows himself to be social and compatible. Monkey has, like his siblings, a slightly wavy coat in light beige and cream tones. His legs, chest and paws are lighter, almost white, which creates a beautiful contrast with his overall fur. His face looks gentle and attentive, with dark, friendly eyes that look curiously into the world. His appearance reminds of a terrier mix, which means that he probably also has a prey drive. For Monkey we wish a loving home where he can grow up with patience and care. As he is still at the beginning, he must still learn the basics of dog behavior like housebreaking, being alone and walking on a leash. But with loving consistency and sufficient mental stimulation, he will develop into a wonderful companion. Attending a positive dog training class can be a great support and helps human and dog to become a well-coordinated team. Monkey travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and treated for fleas to his new home. He is not yet neutered due to his young age. However, he comes with his EU pet passport. After a positive Many thanks Sirka! You gave Monkey his name and thus the chance for a new beginning. Date: 18.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Monkey

What life with Monkey looks like

Monkey is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Monkey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Monkey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Monkey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Monkey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Monkey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Monkey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Monkey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
