Monty

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 12 months

Age: Just over 12 months old Sex: Male Breed: Yorkshire Terrier x Jack Russell medium size Tan and Grey Details: Monty is a lovely, affectionate young dog with great energy and personality. He is quite sensitive to his environment and can be quickly overwhelmed by noise and being around people. He has been working with a trainer over the last few months to help learn how to cope with this. All the notes to enable a new owner to continue with his development will be made available. His development is work in progress. He needs a calm and very patient home where someone has the ability to nurture him and make him feel secure. A new owner MUST be able to and willing to continue to work with him and devote plenty of time to him if he is to blossom into an even more gorgeous little dog. Good with other dogs . He is happy to sleep in his crate at night. Microchipped. Vaccinated. if you feel you can provide ALL that Monty requires in a new home please or email . Please do not ask about him if you cannot meet his full training requirements.

About Monty

What life with Monty looks like

Monty is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Monty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Monty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Monty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Monty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Monty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Monty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society early rather than rehoming privately; they know Monty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
