Dit is de mooie Moonpie! Moonpie verstopte zich in een metalen barrière. Ze zat opgesloten in de middelste strook op een grote verkeersweg. Ze had weinig kans om te overleven. Er reden veel auto’s en ze was in paniek en miauwde. Niemand hoorde haar. Die nacht had Moonpie veel geluk. Een vrijwilligster was aan het wandelen met haar vrienden. Ze was op weg naar huis en het waaide erg. Ze hoorde het poesje miauwen. Het was een moeilijke en gevaarlijke redding, omdat ze erg bang was en zich niet liet vangen door de vrijwilligsters. Ze probeerde zich te verstoppen in de struiken. Na ruim anderhalf uur is het de vrijwilligsters met veel geduld toch gelukt om haar te vangen. Ze was de eerste dag bang, maar daarna begon ze zich te ontspannen. Moonpie is een knuffelig en speels meisje. De beste vriendin van Moonpie is Dimitroula. Moonpie is erg mooi met haar ronde kopje en grote ogen. Ze heeft haar naam te danken aan het feit dat het volle maan was in de nacht toen ze gered werd. Moonpie is gevaccineerd. Update juni 2025: Moonpie is uitgegroeid tot een mooi katje. Maar ze is van karakter nogal schichtig. Haar eerste ervaringen als zwerfkat op straat waren erg traumatisch voor haar. Haar verzorgster herinnert zich nog hoe moeilijk het was om haar te vangen en redden. Ook toen ze gesteriliseerd werd was dat erg traumatisch voor haar. Moonpie kan niet goed tegen druk, stress en ‘ontberingen’. Ze wordt dan bang. Moonpie is erg close met Dimitroula. Het zou geweldig zijn als ze samen geadopteerd worden. Dit kan beter zijn voor haar zelfvertrouwen. Een makkelijke kitten zou haar enorm helpen bij het wennen aan haar nieuwe thuis. Maar omdat ze heel lief is voor andere katten, zou elke sociale kat geschikt zijn. Het zou niet verstandig zijn om haar als enige huisdier te houden. Ze heeft tijd en geduld nodig om aan een nieuw baasje te wennen. Haar nieuwe baasje is idealiter een geduldig, kattenerrvaren persoon zijn. Ze heeft een kalm en rustig huishouden nodig. Een klein appartement zou ideaal zijn, want ze zou zich verloren voelen in een groot huis. Een hele vriendelijke kat zou ook helpen, en nog meer katten zou geweldig zijn. Moonpie heeft er geen behoefte aan om naar buiten te gaan. Dit is ze ook niet gewend. Al onze kittens worden uitsluitend in een huisje geplaatst waar al een andere kat aanwezig is, of als duo!
